No country can investigate and indict another’s leader just because we find their behavior abhorrent. Military intervention is reserved for extreme cases, and even then the results carry huge politial risks. So what can be done when a foreign leader is beyond the pale?

Political violence has claimed more lives in Venezuela in just one year than it did throughout the entire Chilean dictatorship (1973-1990). All because one man turned to violence to hold onto power.

The El Paso shooting was the worst attack targeting Latinos in modern American history. They hate us because they’ve been brainwashed into believing we are criminals intent on harming their families. They hate us because they don’t know us and don’t want to know us.

Wherever one looks across the hemisphere, it seems there is nothing but bad news worthy of a Shakespearan tragedy. All the more reason to salute the generous community of '#ElPasoStrong.'
